Metafora Konseptual dalam Berita Konflik AS vs Iran di Republika: Kajian Semantik Kognitif

Latar belakang: Ketegangan politik Amerika Serikat dan Iran pada April–Mei 2026 direpresentasikan secara intensif dalam media. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana metafora konseptual membentuk representasi konflik dan aktor politik dalam lima artikel Republika.co.id yang terbit pada 8–19 April 2026, sebelum eskalasi yang lebih luas.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis, makna, dan fungsi metafora dalam membingkai konflik politik pada teks berita terpilih.
Metode: Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui qualitative content analysis berbasis Teori Metafora Konseptual Lakoff dan Johnson serta skema citra Cruse dan Croft. Lima artikel dipilih secara purposif dan menghasilkan 23 unit metaforis. Identifikasi metafora dilakukan melalui adaptasi prosedur MIP dengan membandingkan makna kontekstual dan makna dasar, kemudian diaudit berdasarkan ranah sumber, ranah sasaran, korespondensi, dan skema citra.
Hasil: Temuan menunjukkan keberadaan metafora struktural, orientasional, dan ontologis yang berkaitan dengan kekuatan, gerak, batas, serta relasi ruang dan hierarki. Metafora berfungsi membingkai isu, mengonstruksi identitas aktor, memberikan posisi evaluatif, dan membangun narasi sosial. Analisis juga memastikan bahwa unsur literal tidak dikategorikan sebagai metafora tanpa bukti pemetaan lintas ranah.
Kesimpulan: Metafora konseptual berperan dalam mengorganisasi representasi konflik politik secara sistematis dan menjadikan konsep abstrak lebih konkret dalam wacana berita Indonesia.
